Windows Vista in all its ridiculous incarnations , by default, when booting, uses only a core of your processor. In other words, if you have a dual-core Intel or an AMD Athlon X2, or any other variant of more than one nucleus. Always going to start with a single nucleus. Nobody knows because they do this, but good, it does.
Here a small trick that will force Vista to start with all their resources accordingly. Unfortunately I use Windows Vista in English, however, gives the same thing, since it is the same thing:
